College Football Weekend Recap

Texas has bypassed Alabama using its upset win in the Red River Rivalry vs. Oklahoma to earn a Number one position for the first time in 24 years.
"Being ranked No. 1 shows respect for what we've accomplished through the early
part of the season" said Coach Brown., "but nobody really knows who No. 1 is at
this point,"
6 of 10 teams in the top 10 polls remain undefeated; Texas, Alabama, Penn State, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State and Brigham Young.

While the remaining 4 teams each have one loss a piece, Oklahoma, Florida, Southern California and Georgia. For the 4th time this season we will see a new #1 team, as the number one spot was previously held by Georgia, USC and Oklahoma.

Texas received 39 first place votes to Alabama's 26 first place votes to round out the top 2 slots.

Penn state, played well in their 41 point route over the Badgers. Joe Pa could've coached this game from a vacation resort, yes it was that bad. Make no mistake about it, this was defiantly a statement game. No wonder PSU moved up 3 spots from No. 6 rank to No. 3. There is no question Penn State deserves to be mentioned in the same sentence as the rest of the nation's top teams.

The Sooners drop 3 slots to No.4 as they couldn't hold off the Longhorns. Oklahoma lead by 11 twice in the first half and even had an eight point lead in the third quarter, but couldn't finish plays off. It was a great game, its too bad they had to meet so early in the season.

Florida moves up 6 slots to No. 5, as they jumped on LSU from the start of the game and never let up, as they pounded LSU 51-21. So much for all the trash talking! Memo to: Ricky Jean- Francois, next time you promise to Knock Tebow out the game, well you might want to suit up. That's right, Jean-Francois sparked all of the bulletin board material, yet he didn't even suit up for the game.

USC and Texas take care of business as they hold the No. 6 and No.7 spots firmly.

Oklahoma moves into the No. 8 slot with a 28-23 upset win over a prolific scoring offense in Missouri.

BYU at No. 9 and Georgia at No. 10 to cap off the Top 10.

PAC 10 Preview - 10-10-08

Pac 10:
USC vs. ASU (the replacements are coming)

The game should just be dubbed the all-injured bowl (just kidding). Considering the fact that when both Arizona state and USC bump heads, QB Mark Sanchez who suffered a bruise in a 44-10 win over Oregon will not be in the line up. He's been out of practice all week and is still discussing the possibility of sitting out. Sanchez' back up, Mitch Musting has been prepared all week as the potential starter. Despite being the 4th qb on the depart in the start of the season, Musting moved up to the 2nd slot last week. Musting, the Arkansas transfer has a lot of talent, but forces pass in tight spots, which get him in trouble.

From the sun devils side, QB Rudy carpenter is nursing a sprained ankle he suffered in a loss to Cal. While USC can cover up the loss of Sanchez with a guy who went 8-0 in the SEC last season, Losing Carpenter leaves Arizona State without its best player. If Carpenter can't go, that means he’ll ruin his streak of games started, just falling shy of his 37th consecutive game. Arizona State will have to turn to Junior, Danny Sullivan, who will be making his first career start, at USC in THE COLLISUM. This is not the ideal starting place for any QB, midseason.

Unless of course, you're a Trojan football player.

Whatever the Case... Pete Carroll knows how to pick em' and knows how to coach em'..
So I'm with TROY...

Big Ten Review - 10-10-08

Big Ten review:

We Are PENN STATE (now broadcasting in High Definition)

Nittany Lions#6, or like I like to call em' JoePa's Boys, are 6-0 and continue to look impressive, as they bring the Big Ten's
most explosive offense into Wisconsin on Saturday night vs. the
Badgers, who need to win in order to
avoid a 0-3 conference start.

Wisconsin enters this week as one of the nation's most desperate
teams. The Badgers are desperate for a conference win. They realize
that starting 0-3 would destroy all hopes of winning the Big Ten.
Coach Bielema has decided to stick with Quarterback Allan Evridge.
HE
wants the 5th year senior to improve on his accuracy. Evridge has
received much criticism for his 53.2% passing with 3 ints’ in the last
couple of games. Although the Badgers passing game has been hurt due to
injuries to junior TE, Garrett Graham and senior TE, Travis Beckum,
the run oriented badgers cannot afford lack luster play from the QB
position.
"The bottom line is we've got to expect the ball to be
delivered with better accuracy,"
Bielema said.

Coach Rodriguez is still steaming from
Michigan's 25 pt home loss to
Illinois. Coach R said,
"The wolverines played a little bit soft in all
aspects of the game"
He's promising to fix things up, and he must do
so fast, as Michigan is currently 2-3.

Tackle, Dorsey and Wr Evans out of Michigan are still suffering injuries and remain questionable for Saturday's game.

Michigan State's big play defense has them riding a five-game win
streak which has noted them 23rd in the AP poll. The Spartans climb in
the ranks marks their first appearance in 3 years. Northwestern,
like Michigan State, is on a five game win streak, but unlike the
Spartans, find themselves on the outside looking in. Much of Northwestern's success is coming from senior running back Tyrell Sutton.
Sutton is averaging 124.0 scrimmage yards per game, ranking him sixth
in the Big Ten. Despite being only half way through the season, Northwestern has already come within one win of matching 2007's final
record. Sutton's take on the sudden success and recent buzz on campus,

"We just have to maintain that buzz and make sure we stay humble and
stay grounded and play every game like we're 0-0."

SEC Review 10-10-08

SEC review:

All eyes on Florida vs. LSU

The Florida Gators have been looking all season to add more offense to assist Tim “Superman” Tebow and the versatile Percy Harvin. Coach Ubran Myer may have found his answers last week in Jeffrey Demps and Chris Rainey. Rainey and Demps are packed with speed, and seemed to out run everyone on their way to the end zone last week as both went over 100 yards.
The gators will need this balanced scoring attack to beat a very good LSU team.

Florida vs. LSU started to heat up a few days ago.
Defensive Tackle, Ricky Jean- Francois made a statement to the press when asked about facing 2007 Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow, saying:
"LSU Tiger Defenders would try and knock Tim Tebow out of Saturday's game."
Because of the negative press the comment caused on both sides, Jean-Francois was forced to make a statement on LSU's official website clarifying his words.
"We never go into any football game trying to hurt a player from the other team," Jean-Francois said in the release. "My comments in regard to Florida quarterback Tim Tebow were misinterpreted and were intended to reflect the style of football that we play at LSU. We have great respect for Tim as player and a competitor. By taking him out of the game, I meant, as a defense we are going to try to make him ineffective. I'm sorry that my initial comments were interpreted another way."
My take on his comments are, I felt that what he said was misinterpreted, and was done in a competitive manner. After all isn't Jean-Francois earning that scholarship money to knock opposing players out of the game? It's football people.

Despite all of the bulletin board material that has been added to the contest, this will be the first time in 18 years that national champions from the two previous years will meet. The last time this happened was in 1990, when 88' champion Notre Dame beat 89' champion Miami, in a 29-20 classic in South Bend.

According to LSU Coach Les Miles,
"If you find any weaknesses, tell me,"
Miles said in regards to Florida.
"They don't have any weaknesses. Being ranked (No. 11) is underselling them some. It will be our strengths against their strengths. "Our team will have a real want to compete in that game. If we play like we can, I like our match up. Make no bones about it. This game will be fun to play. The players will enjoy this one."
This will defiantly be a great much up. A must see!

Big 12 Review - 10-10-08

Big 12 review:

It's Red River Rivalry Day at the Cotton Bowl...

All Eyes on Oklahoma vs. Texas

Oklahoma's Defensive Line will be at full strength for its first time this weekend. If you're a long horns fan, you're probably cringing at the thought. Before the season many analyst named Oklahoma's defensive front as the strength of the team. Injuries to Junior DT, DeMarcus Granger and Freshmen DE, Frank Alexander had left their defensive front depleted. The rest of the Defense was able to step up, while they recovered from their bumps and bruises.

With both Oklahoma & Texas ranked in the top 5 nationally for the first time since 2004 (Sooners #1 and Texas #5), both look to remain undefeated in a stacked conference.

But, I see this as an opportunity for the Sooners to maintain their number one spot.

This should be a GREAT game and I hope that it comes down to the wire, but Oklahoma has been playing like a True #1... My nod goes to the Sooners

The Real McCoy..... part 1

Heisman Watch – LeSean McCoy

Just when you thought Dave Wannstedt had ruined another football program, LeSean McCoy is there to silence the doubters.

The University of Pittsburgh sophomore tailback, from Bishop McDevitt High School in Harrisburg, rushed for 142 yards and 2 scores, upsetting then #10 University of South Florida in Tampa last Thursday night, and putting Pitt back in the top 25.

After his sensational freshman year, McCoy looks to tear up the Big Least again this year. And he’ll have plenty of opportunities. He made the decision to go to Pitt after attending prep school with fellow University of Miami commit, Graig Cooper, and decided he wanted to be a featured back close to him. He couldn’t have made a better decision. LeSean is tearing up the weaker defenses, has himself in consideration for a Heisman Trophy, and may have the NFL on his mind following this season.

And why not? The talented back has the speed and the moves to make it big.

Some games this week.

I’ll take #1 Oklahoma over #5 Texas in the Red River Shootout

#11 Florida over #4 LSU (Championship game 07' & 08' Champs)

and #22 North Carolina over Notre Dame

Who are your picks??

America's Facebook...

About 4 days ago, Jason Michaels posted a blog on College Humor....I had to repost it, once again, check out College Humor and let Jason know he did good with this one...
(also, you might want to read it from the bottom up)

Heisman Watch... Season of Sam

Heisman Watch – Sam Bradford

The darkhorse became one of the frontrunners, as Knowshon Moreno’s Georgia Bulldogs, Tim Tebow and Percy Harvin’s Florida Gators, and Mark Sanchez’s Southern California Trojans all suffered devastating losses last week, and skyrocketed the very talented Oklahoma Sooners led by Sophomore Sam Bradford to #1 in the polls.

As a freshman, Bradford put up gaudy passing numbers (3121 yards, 36 TD) and put the Sooners in contention for the national title.

This year, he wants more.  He’s off to a torrid start (1293 yards, 16 TD in 4 games) and has his team geared up to take on the resurgent Big 12 conference.  Oh yea and your boy has his own , his own website, Facebook group, and even a fan page.... Take that Tebow

His trip to Miami for the BCS title game won’t be easy. Even if they get past Texas, Texas Tech, Kansas, and the rest of their tough schedule, they’ll likely have Missouri waiting for them in the Big 12 Title game.

If Bradford and the Sooners run the table, they’ll play in the BCS title game, and Bradford should follow in Tim Tebow’s footsteps as the second sophomore to win the Heisman Trophy.

I'll be keeping a close eye on these top games this Saturday.

Ohio State vs. Wisconsin, USC vs. Oregon, and Florida State vs. Miami.

Sarah Palin.... Bingo?

So with this years focus and publicity given to the candidates vying for the White House, here comes another twist.

With the SNL cast, among others, coming down on Sarah Palin's mishaps... here is a new creation for tonight's debate.

It's been speculated that Ms. Palin doesn't know anything and just speaks from buzz words...

Fashion Week

So for years we have been hearing about the skinny models strutting down the runway and being praised by society.

Modeling Blog

I am not saying that their should not be skinny women on the runaway, instead i am an advocate for a variety of real women of different shapes and sizes. Besides the high fashion that these designers create isn't exactly made for the every day woman. Thus I think high fashion can use women who are not realistic because outfits are purely out of this word. However, for every day or Ready to Wear clothes, real women with real bodies.

Calls for banning skinny models have been made in the last few years and now you can show your support with these T-shirts from Skinny Models Off The Runway...

SkinnyModelsOffTheRunway.com Pleaseeeee!

Real Shirts for Real Women!
(And for all of you who might make the ignorant comment that I am a BIG girl and that's why I posted this blog but you can clearly see that at 136 lbs I am anything but that...)

Unique Pets for College

So everyone loves a great pet...

Most people opt for the dog or the cat or the all time low maintenance goldfish, but what about more exotic pets? I'm not referring to snakes or lizards... no that is too ordinary

What about hedgehogs?
-Adorable
-Pocket size (take them to the movies, class, long road trips)
& cuddly (they don't have spikes like porcupines)
- Litter trainable (like cats)
-Hypo allergenic & no body odor
-live up to 10 years according to CuriousAnimals.net

Notorious B.I.G. - The Movie... trailer

It's the N O - T O - R I - O - U S, you just lay down slow...

Lyrical Genius, Brooklyn Bandit, the Black Frank White aka King of New York... call him what you want, his skills and persona cannot be questioned.

Arguably the Grea
test Rapper of All Time (arguably), and also the most skilled....

So the Movie Trailer is here,... Check it out

This is what wikipedia has to say about the project:

Future biopic
Notorious is the working title for a 2009 biographical film about rapper Notorious B.I.G.. Originally Antoine Fuqua was set to direct,[66] but now director George Tillman, Jr. is set to helm the project.[67] The film is being distributed by Fox Searchlight Pictures. Producers on Notorious include Sean "Diddy" Combs, Voletta Wallace and Biggie's former managers Wayne Barrow and Mark Pitts.[67]
In early October 2007 open casting calls for the role of The Notorious B.I.G. began.[68] Actors, rappers and unknowns all tried out. Rapper Beanie Sigel auditioned[69] for the role but was not picked. Sean Kingston claimed that he would play the role of Biggie but producers have denied he would be in the film.[70] The cast has recently been announced with rapper Jamal "Gravy" Woolard cast as Biggie.[71] Other cast members include Angela Bassett as Voletta Wallace, Derek Luke as Sean Combs, Anwan Glover as Snoop Doggy Dogg, Antonique Smith as Faith Evans, Naturi Naughton formely of 3LW as Lil' Kim, Edwin Freeman as Mister Cee and Anthony Mackie as Tupac Shakur.[72]

Well, this is shaping up to be something.  The trailer has no talking, but the snippets shown looks like they spent the money to make this a good movie.  I hope Biggie supporters go to the movies and don't bootleg it.  I guess we'll find out in January when the movie opens up.

How do you think the movie is going to be?

Google Android + T-Mobile = T-Mobile G1 Phone

Search Engine number 1 Google teamed up with the number 4 in the cell phone game T-Mobile, for the first installation of the Android cell phone application creating the G1 Phone.

Lots of hype started about a GPhone after Apple's IPhone dropped. Well, there haven't been any real reviews about how the software works, but people have been getting on them about the boring look of the device. Check Gizmodo.

The look leaves much to be desired and the handset only comes in black, brown and white... but I digress...

The T-Mobile G1 will sell for $179 ($20 cheaper than the iPhone) and will be available Oct. 22. Here are some more features that the phone has:

- Touch Screen
- Full Qwerty keyboard
- 3G/ WiFi
- Full HTML internet capabilities
- Easy access to all Google applications (Gmail, Gtalk, search)
- Maps
- Street view
- You Tube
- Phone
- IM/Text
- Email
- Camera 3.0mp
- Video (playback only, no recording)
- Music player & 1GB memory card pre-loaded
- Applications, all available in Google marketplace (icon on the homescreen)

The Phone is lacking some things such as:

No Microsoft Exchange support
No desktop synchronization -- it all happens over the air

and others but damn..

it's only $179

I can't call it right now, but it looks like the IPhone is still CHAMP...

what do you think??

Dear America

Dear America,

You disgust me. You make me want to vomit, you make me want to slap you across the face.

America, you've been presented with an incredible opportunity to turn things around, and you're being an asshole about it. You complain, you whine, you bitch about how the gas prices suck. About how you wish your older brother could come home from his second tour of Iraq. How you can't pay for college. Yet you continue to support the idiocy of morons more popularly known as the RNC.

America, are you as masochistic as you make yourself appear?
You say you love this country, you love the freedoms you have. Yet you seem to get some sick pleasure from watching civil rights swivel down the drain. America, you say you hate terrorists. But you forget that terrorists are humans too, and you subject them to inhumane torture. When did America start taking an eye for eye? What happened? When did voting for someone who would continue this same sadistic cycle that you protest so loudly against, when did this become a good idea?

Let's talk about sex, baby...
Chances are if you're over the age of 18, you love sex. And you also know that unprotected sex can lead to not only nasty infections but also infections of the uterus...of human beings. Whether you're pro-choice or whatever, it doesn't matter. As it stands right now, our government is trying to put birth control in the same category as abortion. Oh, I'm sorry, America. I think there's something called a difference between a pill and a medical procedure. You love sex, America, as uptight as you can be. Allowing someone who'll take a shit on something you love is something you've never stood for. Why would you let someone take away something you enjoy?

How about those gas prices, America? Are you enjoying the hit your wallet's taking every time you stop at a Conoco? A BP? A Kum n Go? The next time I hear one of my friends close to tears at the pump, I'm gonna slap you. You pretend like you care, with your reusable grocery bags, with your increased interest in public transit and bicycles. Yet you continue to drive everywhere. In fact, I bet you just put a McCain-Palin bumper sticker on your Range Rover. You're a moron.

Don't you know that the reason why gas prices are so high are because of government taxes? And why do we need those government taxes? Oh, that's right. Our national debt now stands at nearly $9.7 trillion dollars. Are you retarded, America? Do you realize that that means every man, woman and child who lives in this country basically owes $31,755.22 to our government. I would kill to have 31 k in my bank account.

Let's talk about food prices. Let's talk about how yesterday at Stop N Shop, generic, plain frozen blueberries (my favorite food of all time) now cost the same as the fancy, wild frozen blueberries grown off the coast of Maine. Not to mention that they
both cost $3.99. A summer ago, I was eating a bag of generic brand blueberries every 3 days at a whopping $2 a bag. You know why food costs so much? Because gas costs so much.

America, we need to stage an intervention. You're acting out. You're destroying yourself. You need therapy, you need change.

You hear that? We need change.

When I read articles like
this, articles telling me that McCain and Obama are neck and neck, I wanna cry. What the fuck is going on in your brain, America? Have you forgotten about the country you used to be?

You piss and moan about the state of things right now, not realizing that a Republican vote is not only just going to keep things the same, but even worse. You whine about your life, but you're gonna vote for McCain because you think a woman shouldn't have a choice with her body. Because you think it's the only way we're gonna keep the terrorists out. Because you think Obama has a funny name, and you don't want "no foreigners in our White House". Because a trifling hoe from Alaska in the white house is a huge, great achievement- over an educated black man who worked his way to mutual respect from the citizens of this country.

You're full of shit, America. You're not who you used to be.

I want you to change because I believe in you, America. I want you to work your democratic muscles and put a Democrat in the office. I want to be proud to be an American.
Register to vote. Educate yourself on the issues. Inform yourself of what you're getting into if you elect McCain and Palin. America, you need to change, but you have to want to change. Do your research and you'll be craving Obama in January '09 like I crave my now four-dollar bags of blueberries.

Don't let me down, America.

Love,

Ari

O'Reilly vs. Obama part 1

The showdown begins...

In this corner, the undisputed pundit of Republican Values, The O'Reilly Factor ...
Bill O'Reilly ...BILL, BILL, BILL!!!!

And in this corner, The Contender, The Fist Pump Champ, The Voice of a New Nation, Barack The MC, PrimeTime ...
Barack Obama ... YES WE CAN!!!, YES WE CAN!!!

I believe that they both have a mutual respect of each other and in other settings could be very good friends.

But at this battleground, the gloves begin to come off.
This is the prequel... You see O'Reilly trying to stick Obama on the issues and forcing him to use words...
And
You see Obama, talking his way out of a divisive issue, and making O'Reilly agree with him on issues...

Part 1 down... check out O'Reilly Factor on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday to hear the rest.

So who do you think won round 1???

my score
O'Reilly - 1
Obama   - 1
